On the road again

As of tomorrow I’ll be gone for a couple of weeks. I will embark upon a great journey through the western countries of europe. It’ll be a volkswagen powered road trip, taking me and some friends from the northern parts of Holland, through belgium in a straight line to Paris and through the French country all the way to italy and beyond.

I’m going to try to update my website as often as I can. In an attempt to share some of that lovely french loveliness with you. I’m hoping for an inspirational trip.

I’ll check back with you soon, as I post my first photographs.

I also like to paint

I love to photograph, it’s something that takes up most of my time. But sometimes when the weather is bad, I stay inside and paint.

I like to use very basic colors, often in an abstract composition. Not knowing what something is, or even how exactly it’s created adds a ¬†dimension of mystery, it’s a nice contrast with my photography. It makes you wonder, while at the same time you can just appreciate it as something aesthetical (hopefully).

So to show you a bit more of me and what I do besides photography, here are some of my paintings. I hope you like them!

Boats

ImageImage

These are two shots of boats. One is a brand new gigantic yacht, still under construction. The other is a tiny wooden fishing boat, slowly decaying. They’re opposit in every way.. ¬†A fun little contrast
